Once Frank Zappa was immediately enthusiastic about the KS-System.
Since then he made of use of several Stacks.
The new KS monitors on the James Taylor tour of Europe
On the recent "Pull Over" tour of Europe the 'James Taylor Band' was the first
to use the new KS monitors. John Godenzi, James Taylor's live engineer, put together
a special self-monitoring system; using KS monitor speakers and amps, which allowed
each musician to control his own sound.
The new KS T4M wedge monitor (12" + 2", neodymium) was powered by the TA4U amp. (4x1000 watts).
Godenzi used a T4M with a self-powered TW sub-woofer as the drum monitor for Steve Gadd,
the same sub. and 2 T4m's, in stereo, for Larry Goldings keyboards and a single T4M for guitarist Mike Landau.
"I was very happy with the results we got with these KS components, as were the band. The very elegant
design and engineering of the system delivered exactly what we needed without recourse to any
out-board eq. or processing."
At the show in the Alte Oper (Frankfurt Germany), John (middle) met with Dieter Klein (right), Founder of KS,
and Steve Murray who is the system engineer for © USA, and who flew in for the concert.
The house audio installation in the Alte Oper (which is one of the premier opera houses in Europe)
is a full ks system, which Godenzi used for his show there. "Although the design of the installation
has not been tailored to the needs of "popular" music, the KS gear enabled us to achieve a fine result:
great clarity" he said.
James Taylor used the exact same system during his European tour in March and April 2003.
